Club History
Litchfield Soccer Club had its first season in 2002 as a result of Palmerston La-Faek being forced to turn junior players away in the 2001 season.
Initial inquiries into opportunities for Rural-based junior players were made in 2000 by the Berry Springs Reserve Committee. The NTSF held discussions but no firm decisions were made.
Following Palmerston La Faek turning away players in early 2001, the NTSF moved to support the formation of a second Palmerston/Rural soccer club.
Since 2002, Litchfield Soccer Club has moved from strength to strength and now boasts some of the highest junior registration numbers in the Northern Territory.
A number of junior and senior teams have won premiership and cup trophies with many Litchfield players selected to represent the Northern Territory.
The club is now moving forward into a new era of Football in Australia and is striving to raise funds for a permanent home for the club at Fred's Pass Reserve
A parcel of land at Fred's Pass Reserve has been set aside for the development of football facilities. The first new pitch is nearing completion with lighting to be erected by the beginning of 2009. More land has been cleared for further pitches. Plans are being drafted for a clubroom facility.
